Gaza Cemetery

PW2-11 Gaza Cemetery: Over 100 Canadian military members were killed while serving on peacekeeping missions.

Gaza Cemetery
Canadian Section, British Cemetery Gaza

Canadian section of the British cemetery where Canadian service personnel who died in the service of peace in the Middle East between 1956 and 1967 are buried.

In over 50 UN peacekeeping missions in 50 years using the United Nation Emergency Force 1 model, Canada lost 104 service personnel on peace missions.  Until the early 1970s, the deceased were not repatriated.  They were buried in the country where they died.
