Programme « J’adopte un livre 2025 »
Quel est ce programme?
Chaque année, à la fin du mois de mars, le Centre de recherche sur l’histoire militaire du Musée canadien de la guerre fournit à l’organisme de bienfaisance des Amis une liste de titres qu’il souhaite acquérir pour améliorer la capacité de recherche du Centre, mais qui dépassent les ressources de son allocation budgétaire.
Pourquoi ce programme est-il important?
Depuis la création du programme, plus de 1,152 titres d’une valeur supérieure à 53,500 $ ont été parrainés au nom du Centre de recherche sur l’histoire militaire. Cette générosité a rehaussé la réputation internationale du Centre, permettant aux chercheurs canadiens et internationaux – par l’intermédiaire du Service de prêt entre bibliothèques – de poursuivre leurs études en histoire militaire; et, par extension, contribuer à la compréhension publique des guerres et de leur impact sur les sociétés.

Adoptez un livre ou des livres et honorez une personne que vous admirez. Voici comment. Rendez-vous sur la page Parrainer un livre et suivez les étapes. Saisissez les informations requises et, dans la « boîte de message », insérez « Adoptez un livre » ainsi que le(s) numéro(s) et titre(s) que vous souhaitez parrainer. Si vous le souhaitez, il y a aussi une autre case dans laquelle vous pouvez inscrire un « in memoriam » ou une « dédicace ».
Programme J’adopte un livre 2025/26
Les livres adoptés au cours de cette campagne contribueront à faire en sorte que la bibliothèque du Centre de recherche sur l’histoire militaire continue d’être la meilleure collection de titres d’histoire militaire canadienne au monde. Ces livres sont la littérature la plus récente dans le domaine, ainsi que des livres qui aident à combler les lacunes dans le sujet de la bibliothèque pour assurer un regard complet sur le sujet. Les choix pour cette année comprennent 60 livres en anglais et 18 en français. Ces ouvrages traitent d’un très large champs de sujets: de la géopolitique à la stratégie et les tactiques militaires; les expériences personnelles incluant la perspective des femmes dans la guerre; l’histoire générale et militaire à travers les âges; les armes économiques, les jeux de guerre et la photographie.
Les titres que la bibliothèque du MHRC souhaite acquérir sont énumérés ci-dessous. Vous pouvez bien entendu laisser le choix d’un ou plusieurs titres au coordinateur de la campagne. Dans le cas où un titre a déjà été adopté, le coordinateur attribuera un titre alternatif de valeur égale. La bibliothèque acquerra alors le(s) livre(s) et inscrira le nom du commanditaire et le « In Memorium » ou « Dédicace » sur un ex-libris dans chaque volume.
