| The Canadian Forces Artist Program – Group 9 exhibition, currently on display at the Canadian War Museum, sits within a rich tradition of official Canadian War Art, going back over a century. How did official war art get its start in Canada, and how did it get to where it is today? What links the contemporary artists of Group 9 to artistic forerunners such as A.Y. Jackson, Mabel May, Alex Colville, or Molly Lamb Bobak? Dr. Stacey Barker will discuss these topics in a presentation, followed by a walkthrough of the CFAP Group 9 exhibition and Q&A. |
