Museum Programs

The Friends support the full spectrum of Museum activity through volunteering and fundraising.

Overview

The Friends assist the Museum with their programs including outreach activities such as the Supply Line initiative, the Tilston Memorial Collection of Canadian Military Medals and travelling exhibits and assist with in-house projects such as special exhibits and the hosting national and international seminars.

Our Contribution

  1. We support educational initiatives such as the Supply Line project which reaches students across Canada
  2. We support the CWM as it hosts national and international military history events
  3. We contribute financially through direct donations and by conducting fund raising events such as “Vimy in Words and Music” and the “Eleventh Hour” Concerts
  4. Financially support CWM virtual exhibits like Remembrance Day. This module provides resources to deliver engaging discussions, lessons and ceremonies.

  1. We support youth outreach initiatives by volunteers to help Museum staff welcome and support hundreds of young students to the Veterans’ Week events
  2. We honour our history by providing funds and volunteers to help refurbishment military vehicles on display in the Lebreton Gallery and most recently by funding the transport of the autocar that participate Mons Belgium parade honoring the conclusion of hostilities in WW1
  3. We secured millions of dollars in donations to support the construction of the current Museum on the Vimy Place site
