Following the submission of your donation, you will receive an official income tax receipt by e-mail. We do not share our donors list with anyone.

Overview
To support the Canadian War Museum in its mission to educate, preserve and commemorate Canada’s military history, we need volunteers. The Friends are all volunteers – we invite you to join us.
Volunteering with the FCWM can take many forms. We try to utilize the talents our volunteers bring.
Volunteer Activities
Volunteering with the FCWM can take take many forms. We try to utilize the talents our volunteers bring. They labour diligently in the “tank shop” on the restoration of vehicles and other equipment. They can also be found in the Research Centre and in the archives performing painstaking historical research on behalf of the Museum. Others work on the myriad administrative duties associated with the Friends of the Canadian War Museum, as members of the Board of Directors or as Committee members; looking after the office, the FCWM web site, the book store, etc. – tasks all integral to the FCWM support of the Canadian War Museum.
Apply
Perhaps even more varied than their volunteer duties are their backgrounds. Many, but by no means all, have records of naval or military service. Others were employed as scientists, engineers, educators, public servants or in the private sector. They also reflect the rich mosaic of the Canadian population. They are men and women born both in Canada and abroad reflecting the cultural and ethnic diversity of Canada. Taken as a whole, they could be characterized as a “core sample” of almost a century of Canadian history.

The principal benefit of being a Friend through a membership is the satisfaction of contributing to the growth and development of the Friends charity.
Why Join?
Being a Friend of the Canadian War Museum allows you to contribute directly with your voice, such as participating in Members’ meetings or standing for election to the Board of Directors. As a member you have a say with the Friends support towards selected Canadian War Museum programs that preserve Canadian social history and deliver related educational programs for all age groups.
